摘要
Ideal substrates that own reasonable electronic structures and geometric conformations are necessary for the application of single-atom noble metals in catalysis. Herein, we use a remarkable submonolayer MoS2-x substrate with unique surface properties to support single-atom Pt. Structural and electrochemical characterization revealed that the synergism between abundant S vacancies and single Pt atoms on submonolayer MoS2-x greatly improves activity and stability during a hydrogen evolution reaction (HER), with an overpotential of 144 mV at a current density of 10 mA/cm(2) and a Tafel slope of 63 mV/dec.
