Combined Anterior and Superior Approach to Superior Mesenteric Artery (SMA) during Pancreaticoduodenectomy

In cases of pancreaticoduodenectomy (PD) for patients with pancreatic cancer the SMA first approach has several advantages compared to the classical approach. These include reducing estimated blood loss, early identification of contraindication to resection and facilitating venous resection if needed. In this video we present a new technique to the SMA first approach.
