PC59. Timing of Autologous Tissue Breast Reconstruction Does Not Affect Free Flap Failure

PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to determine whether undergoing immediate versus delayed reconstruction is associated with breast free flap failure, as well as analyze national epidemiologic practice trends. METHODS: Retrospective cohort study of female patients undergoing breast reconstruction with microvascular free tissue transfer performed in North America between 2015 and 2019 using the NSQIP database. RESULTS: During the study interval, 9863 patients met inclusion criteria. Just under half of patients underwent immediate reconstruction (45.1%), whereas a slight majority underwent delayed reconstruction (54.9%).
