摘要
Goal 11 of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDG) has seven “outcome targets” to achieve, which include safe and affordable housing; affordable and sustainable transport systems; inclusive and sustainable urbanisation; protection of the world's cultural and natural heritage; reduction of the adverse effects of natural disasters; reduction of the environmental impacts of cities; and providing access to safe and inclusive green and public spaces. This paper investigates the vernacular habitats of north-east India through the lens of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 11. Each criterion has been assessed with examples of vernacular architecture from different north-eastern states. It is evident that lessons for native habitats can complement the prose of sustainable development from the UNSDG's lens.
