摘要
Bioceramics are significant materials for various biomedical purposes mainly in regenerative applications. Bioglass (BAG) and hydroxyapatite (HAp) are trendsetting materials owing to their biocompatibility and mineralization potentiality. Even though extensive use of plants has been there in ancient medicine, these were not scientifically evaluated with techniques of the modern world. Hence, more focus is being given to develop ancient herbal medications integrated with modern materials and technology to enhance the performance and to provide effective cure. Cissus quadrangularis (CQ) is a potent medicinal plant that is used to enhance the bonetissue regeneration. In this study BAG and HAp were prepared by wet chemical approach and the processed CQ is integrated with the bioceramics to enhance the regeneration potentiality. As expected, anti-oxidant and biocompatibility was improved in CQ integrated materials than the host components. Hence, herbal CQ conjugated bioactive ceramics showed enhanced biocompatibility, anti-oxidant features, and regenerative properties with optimal toxicity for the rapid healing.
