摘要
In this paper, we define Biblical Archaeology in respect to its historical and modern development as a discipline within anthropological archaeology. Today Biblical Archaeology and those who continue to use the term generally categorize it as a specialized sub-discipline of Levantine Archaeology hyper-focused on the elucidation of the historical and cultural setting of the biblical period. Despite attempts in the past of deconstructing Biblical archaeology, it has stood the test of time evolving into one of the most unique, interdisciplinary and cutting edge forms of archaeology that continues to illuminate our understanding of past culture in Israel and neighboring lands.
