On Complementary Approaches of Assessing the Predictive Potential of QSPR/QSAR Models

This chapter covers an overview of recent studies performed to improve the statistical tools to assess and compare different QSPR/QSAR models. The critical analysis of existing approaches to assess the predictive potential is briefly presented. The disadvantages of the systems of self-consistent modelsSelf-consistent model system are also discussed. The potential advantages of the systems of self-consistent models are defined. A series of successful applications of the approach for several endpoints are discussed in order to confirm the potential of the approach as a tool to validate QSAR models.
