Dosimetric verification

Quality assurance (QA) is designed to control and maintain the quality standard in QA programs. In radiotherapy, QA programs are essentially a set of policies and procedures that maintain the quality of patient care. To maintain this quality, each institution should be evaluated on the following: measurement of absolute dose to water, general QA test for medical linear accelerators (linacs), and patient-specific QA for intensity modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) and volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT) techniques.
