Basic Cancer Staging by using Ultrasound Diagnostics in Rural Tanzania & Early Referral by Virtual Case Discussions

Introduction and research questions Cancer diseases are on the rise in low- and middle-income countries. With the worldwide spread of point-of-care ultrasound, its use as a diagnostic tool for oncology screenings comes into the focus of healthcare providers. The aim of this work is to investigate the feasibility of an ultrasound training concept in a low resource setting and to evaluate how this educational concept can lead an improved knowledge and understanding of ultrasound diagnostics and patient care.
