An overall assessment of the pathway procedures, analytical approaches, and potentially essential applications of zinc oxide nanostructured materials

Zinc oxide (ZnO) has long been considered to have great potential in a variety of applications in photocatalysis. As a result, this semiconductor has gained long-standing popularity in recent research. This review aims to shed light on the outlooks for the common applications as well as greener synthesis routes of ZnO. The discussion of character in conjunction with precautions during the characterization of ZnO-based materials for physical, chemical, and optical structures is also discussed. Moreover, the photoactivity of ZnO in environmental remediation and energy carrier production is supplemented in the end to provide an overview of the potential application of ZnO-based materials, and to reveal their potential actual implementation of these processes.
