Intestinal permeability and endometriosis: a pilot investigation

•This trial documents a significant correlation between laparoscopically proven endometriosis and impaired Intestinal Permeability.•There is a statistically significant relationship between Intestinal Permeability and endometriosis as compared with control patients and patients without endometriosis.•Our pilot study suggests that impaired Intestinal Permeability is a frequent finding in patients with endometriosis.•This study used a Lactulose and Manitol oral challenge with a urine collection to determine presence of impaired intestinal permeability.
