Feasibility Study of Proton-Based Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy of Small Volume Skull-Base Tumors

Purpose: Stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) with photons is a treatment technique increasingly utilized for patients with skull base tumors that are inoperative due to proximity to numerous critical structures. Particle therapy such as proton therapy can provide advantageous dose distributions for complex targets. We investigate the feasibility of proton therapy SBRT.
