摘要
Graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4) is an abundantly available photocatalyst material that has a two-dimensional structure and possesses different properties such as remarkable stability in chemical and electronic structure, which can be adjusted by coupling this with different functional materials according to different applications. As g-C3N4 consists of layers, it can be converted into different morphologies such as nanosheets, quantum dots, and nanotubes. Pure g-C3N4 has low surface area and uncontrollable recombination of photogenerated charges. Therefore, modifications of g-C3N4 are necessary for better photocatalytic performance. In this chapter, the synthesis, properties, different types of g-C3N4 nanocomposites, and applications are discussed.
