RxNorm

RxNorm is a standard drug terminology built either to be stand-alone as a working terminology or to provide a method of converting one terminology to another. It covers essentially all prescription non-biologic products except for radiopharmaceuticals and some multivitamin supplements. With a rigorous set of standards and business rules for forming the names, it has been adopted widely for use in the United States.
