摘要
Environmental factors including life-style choices may affect the risk of food allergy development, with food allergy often reported as part of a compiled “allergy” outcome. Farm living, particular in rural areas, appear to be one of the strongest protective environments for reduced allergic diseases, including food allergy. Allergen exposure through an impaired skin barrier may, on the other hand, increase the risk of allergies, while the role of climate changes, air pollution and urban factors for the risk of food allergy is not clear. In general, few randomized controlled trials have investigated the effect of environmental interventions for preventing food allergy development. No environmental interventions have thus far been effective in reducing the risk of food allergy.
