Introduction: Knee injuries cause inflammation that may culminate in irreversible degradation of joint structures. The purpose of this study was to query whether the human formulation of IL-1Ra (Anakinra) could attenuate inflammation effects in synoviocytes and meniscus cells when delivered in free form or from mechanoactive microcapsules (MAMCs).
