Polydopamine Coated Gold Nanorods In article number 2304208, Emerson Coy and co-workers study the mechanisms behind the photocatalytic and photothermal response of plasmonic gold nanorods covered with biomimetic polymer polydopamine. The studies show that the composites exhibit near-infrared and visible light functionalities, producing non-negligible amounts of reactive oxygen species and thermal energy. The studies provide a framework for understanding, improving, and applying these composites in biomedicine, energy, and environmental applications.
