Back Cover: The potential role of synovial cells in the progression and treatment of osteoarthritis (EXP2 5/2023)

Communication between the synovium and cartilage is considered to be a novel mechanism that promotes the progression of osteoarthritis (OA). As depicted in the figure, the representation of the knee joint breaking through the water curtain symbolizes that this mechanism may facilitate the progression of OA. Moreover, synovial cell-based therapy could become a significant milestone in the future treatment of OA.
