Eco-friendly approach to construction: Incorporating waste plastic in geopolymer concrete

This study examines the outcomes of using recycled plastic in geopolymer concrete. In order to better understand how waste plastic affects the characteristics of geopolymer concrete, a sustainable alternative to conventional concrete, this research proposes to conduct a series of experiments. This study compiles findings from earlier investigations on the use of waste plastic in concrete as well as a literature review on geopolymer concrete. Experimental techniques include a description of the plastics used, how those plastics were selected, how samples were prepared, and how they were tested. Mechanical characteristics, workability, thermal properties, microstructure, and environmental effect of geopolymer concrete containing waste plastic are shown in the results and discussion section. The research found that geopolymer concrete's characteristics and performance were affected by the addition of waste plastic, which might have implications for the future of eco-friendly building materials. Optimal plastic composition, long-term behaviour evaluation, and application exploration need more study.
