摘要

•An in-situ synthesis of ZIF-8/HKUST-1 composite was successfully carried out using the solvothermal method.•The addition of graphene oxide (GO) to the ZIF-8/HKUST-1 composite was done by the impregnation method.•The addition of GO to ZIF-8/HKUST-1 resulted in an increase in the removal percentage of Congo Red (CR).•The CR removal by GO/ZIF-8/HKUST-1 composite followed the pseudo-second-order photocatalytic kinetics.
