摘要
Cervical cancer is one of the leading causes of cancer deaths worldwide. With the implementation of preventive and treatment programs, the burden of cervical cancer has decreased dramatically in high-income settings. However, the goal of achieving the global elimination of this preventable disease is still challenging, and the outcome of women with advanced disease is still poor. Thus there is a need for new screening tests and therapeutic alternatives. In this chapter, we discuss the research on long noncoding RNAs as potential molecules for screening, diagnosis, and their application in cervical cancer therapy.
