摘要
The two-dimensional transition metal carbides, and nitrides, usually referred to as MXenes, are adaptable materials because of their rich surface chemistry and tuneable structure. MXenes are a promising two-dimensional material that can be used in a wide range of ways because they are physically and chemically flexible. Since MXenes were first introduced in 2011, many different ways to make them have been proposed to make MXene nanosheets and other products on a large scale. Since then, the stable phases of more than 200 unique MXenes have been discovered or anticipated by researchers depending on combinations of distinct transition metals including Ti (titanium), Mo (molybdenum), V (vanadium), and Cr (chromium). Several theoretical and experimental studies have revealed their fascinating possibilities for energy conversion as well as electrochemical storage. This chapter overviews how MXenes are synthesized, how they work, and what they might be used for. The applications of MXenes in different fields were also discussed. This helps us understand why these materials are so famous.
