摘要
Class 2 and 3 obesity in the US has been rising and contributes to reduced reproductive potential and infertility. 51.1% of the bariatric surgery cases between 2005 and 2015 have been performed in reproductive-age women. Surgical weight loss reverses menstrual endocrine disturbances associated with obesity. Shorter follicular phase and higher, less delayed rise of luteal progesterone levels have been observed even in ovulatory obese women at 6 months of surgical weight loss. Post-operative reversal in menstrual endocrine profile may improve the efficacy of ovulation induction treatments in obese women with diverse infertility diagnoses.
