Semiautomatic Experimental System Using Some Portable Robot Arms Collaborating with a Human

Automating an experiment such that parameters are changed again and again is desirable. Realising the automation saves the time cost and reduces the load of the experimenter. Especially, in a preliminary experiment, it is necessary to use an automation machine that is not expensive and is adapted for many general instruments, such as oscilloscope and function generator. This paper describes a semiautomatic experimental system using compact and simple robot arms. A part of the experiment is automated; however, the experimenter performs the other part that is difficult to be automated. The effectiveness of the semiautomatic system is confirmed under the real experiment. The results show some useful points. The system can save the total time and can reduce the physical and mental load of the experimenter even if the automation is partial.
