摘要
Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths in Australia and worldwide. Approximately 80% of lung cancers are caused by tobacco smoking. Targeted lung cancer screening (LCS) using low-dose computed tomography, and risk-based invitation of people with smoking history, enables earlier detection and significantly reduces mortality. International LCS guidelines recognise that connecting participants with evidence-based smoking cessation support is a priority. One of the multiple implementation challenges is how to optimally embed smoking cessation interventions in a potential Australian LCS program.
