摘要
Lung cancer represents more then half of all new cancers diagnosed in Canada and is predominantly associated with smoking behaviours. In 2022, 30,000 Canadians were diagnosed with lung cancer while 20,700 died from this disease. Lung cancer in never-smokers (LCINS) represents approximately 25% of cases, with numerous factors that contribute such as second-hand smoke, exposure to environmental pollutants, radon, and occupational exposures, compared with ever-smoker (herein referred to as smokers) lung cancer that is predominantly associated with smoking behaviours.
