摘要
Room temperature ionic liquids (RTILs) are potential materials generally utilized in various field of research due to their various physical-chemical properties but our concern is that using ILs in carbon dioxide (CO2) capture, storage and its utilization. Both types of ILs such as hydrophobic and hydrophilic ILs were used in capturing of CO2 on nanotechnology based. One of the imidazolium based [EMIM][BF4] or [BMIM][BF4] ILs in which graphene has been trapped show good CO2 capture performance with the help of simulation study because CO2 trapped in the interfacial space of graphene layer and ILs decreases the viscosity between the layer. By the combination of two types of ILs, researchers avoid the problem associate with the CO2 capturing on monolayer because graphene itself combination of various layer and ILs help in proper absorption of CO2 by lowering the viscosity. Study has been reported with various phosphate, bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imde etc. based ILs and compare the CO2 capture and utilization capacity and discussed its future application in numerous fields. The characteristics interactions have been discussed between ILs-CO2 in terms of either fixed cation with different anion or vice versa or in terms of presence of functional group.
