Gas cavities in the chest wall, a report of Clostridium perfringens infection

Abstract We reported a case of Clostridium perfringens infection with Gas activities in the Chest wall. Unlike the widely reported of gas cavity in liver, gas cavities in the chest wall caused by Clostridium perfringens infection is rare. Extrahepatic gas cavities indicate bloodstream infection and tissue invasion of Clostridium perfringens which can be an indicator of poor disease outcome.
