SrTiO and EuTiO: Almost twins or not even relatives?

In this paper we compare the two closely related perovskite SrTiO3 and EuTiO3 to each other and highlight their similarities but also their differences in detail. While for SrTiO3 the early work by K. Alex Müller is emphasized, recent results on EuTiO3 are discussed and their apparent discrepancies with respect to SrTiO3 outlined. Our findings show that both compounds are amazingly related but the magnetic properties of the Eu 4f7 spins add complexity to this material which is absent in the other compound.
