摘要
Distribution is defined as the set of values that a variable can assume, and how often each value occurs. Probability measures the chance of a particular event's occurrence. It ranges from a value of zero to one. The probability distribution can be either discrete or continuous. The normal (Gaussian) distribution is one of the most important types of continuous distributions in biostatistics. It is described by two parameters, the mean, and the variance. Bell-shaped curve, symmetrical about its mean, median is equal to mean and shifted to the right if the mean is increased and to the left if the mean is decreased are its characteristic features. Skewness and kurtosis are two principal measures that are used to describe the shape of a distribution. t-Distribution, chi-squared distribution, F-distribution, and lognormal distribution are other types of continuous distribution. Binomial distribution and Poisson distribution are types of discrete distribution.
