Surface crystallization of CoIIIcorroles towards accelerating electrocatalyzed hydrogen evolutions and oxygen reductions

Surface engineering is an effective way to improve the electrochemical catalytic activities. We herein reported an effective strategy of surface crystallization of CoIIIcorroles towards accelerating electrochemically catalyzed hydrogen evolutions (HERs) and oxygen reductions (ORRs). Interestingly, the electrochemically catalytic efficiency could be rationally modulated by mesosubstituents of CoIIItriarylcorroles and surface crystallization conditions. Also, the enhanced electrocatalyzed HERs were also succeeded in a wide range of pH media including acid, alkaline, neutral and extended simulated seawater medias.(c) 2023 Hydrogen Energy Publications LLC.
