摘要
UPVC is a tough version of PVC plastic with unique features. Its characteristics of corrosion resistance, high durability, insulation, low maintenance cost, and environmental friendliness make it a potential candidate for study and development into new applications. This study focuses on the usage of UPVC pipes as a cover for concrete columns. This study investigates the use of UPVC in a concrete column in order to boost its strength and longevity. Engineering property tests are done, and their effects are investigated. Specimen of various shapes and sizes are collected, class 3 pipes with diameters of 160 mm, 110 mm, and 90 mm having heights of 300 mm each and having nominal pressures of 0.6 MPa are cast using PPC grades M15, M20, and M25. test performed to see the effect of axial compression on the specimens, measuring ultimate strength, confined pressure, and ductility. The yield load- displacement curve and specimen deformation pattern are both investigated. Shear and macrocracking failure are documented in all specimen. Using UPVC in concrete columns improves its features, such as corrosion resistance and durability, while also making it more cost-effective.
