Nanoformulations of Agrochemicals Used to Apply Pesticides and Fertilizers for Crop Improvement

Agriculture productivity would not have been possible without the intensive use of traditionally formulated pesticides and fertilizers, as well as other agricultural practices. However, the use of these chemicals is associated with drawbacks that affect their efficacy. Recently, nanoformulations of these agrochemicals (and their inert ingredients) have significantly contributed to the use of lower doses, reducing the amount of active ingredients, and hence minimizing and/or eliminating any associated potential hazards. The result of these nanoformulations of pesticides and fertilizers is improved efficiencies, stabilities, solubility, bioavailability, dispersion, enhanced uptake, reduced soil adsorption and fixation, prolonged effective duration, and reduced environmental loads.
