Into the DEEP: Integrating Virtual Reality and Biofeedback to Enhance Self-Regulation in Detained Youth

The scarcity and inequity of child mental health care is motivating development of innovative and accessible transdiagnostic therapeutics. This work reports on a feasibility and tolerability trial with a detained juvenile sample, who played DEEP is a biofeedback-integrated virtual-reality (VR) video game that conditions use of diaphragmatic breathing as a self-regulatory strategy.
