Structural Current Collectors In article number 2202321, Jae Young Seok, Sanha Kim, and co-workers introduce a structurally hierarchical copper current collector for lithium metal battery anodes. The nanorods inside the micro-cavities concentrate the local electrical field onto inner surfaces of the microstructures, enabling inward nucleation of lithium. The subterraneously grown lithium tends to agglomerate, resulting in minimized solid-electrolyte interface formation and suppression of dendrite formation, thus, increasing coulombic efficiency and cycle life.
