Quality Evaluation of Enterprise Architecture Frameworks

An Efficient and effective Enterprise Architecture Framework (EAF) design depends on the quality of the EAF and its quality evaluation process. Most of the prior research lacks selecting proper quality factors, which maximize the EAF quality. Moreover, the set of metrics, devised in those works, for the measurement of the quality factors is specific to those frameworks. To resolve these issues, a novel quality evaluation framework is proposed in this paper. In this framework, the quality feature is characterized by several quality factors like reusability, context sensitivity, re-configurability, and structural complexity. Moreover, a set of ten basic quality assessment metrics has also been proposed and validated theoretically.
