摘要
Skin protects the organs from the external environment as an outermost barrier. In this regard, to maintain human health upon injury, it is significantly necessary to cure rapid and scarless wound healing. Electrical stimulation is recently getting great attention in skin tissue engineering for manipulating wound healing. However, the complexity of equipment to apply appropriate electrical stimulation remains an ongoing challenge. Here, we proposed a scarless wound healing strategy to apply electrical stimulation with the multi-stacked electret (MS-electret), which can easily control the intensity of electrostatic fields (EFs) by stacking electret layers. This strategy is successfully demonstrated through in vitro and in vivo experiments, as a result, inhibiting the activity of myofibroblasts are crucial to achieve sound wound regenerative outcome. Therefore, the MS-electret plays a role as restrict scar formation. Consequently, these findings presented that the usefulness of the MS-electret is outstanding candidate for effective scar-less wound healing with a battery-free, physiological electrical microenvironment, and non-invasive treatment enabling it to prevent external infection.
