In our paper J. Opt. Soc. Am. B 39 , 1130 ( 2022 ) JOBPDE 0740-3224 10.1364/JOSAB.451595 there are typographical mistakes and omissions in four mathematical expressions that appear in Section 2.A of the published paper. This erratum corrects those errors to allow the normalized power transmission to be calculated correctly.
