Effective Handling Method of Sidelink Identifier Conflict

In Release 17, the Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) focused on research and standardization of Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) and relay related service standards using New Radio (NR) technology. V2X and relay services are characterized by high mobility and dynamic configuration compared to conventional communication services. In order to provide these services successfully, it is most important to ensure the low transmission delay and high connection reliability of sidelink. Sidelink is a direct communication technology used in these services to exchange messages and data between user equipments (UEs). The UE identifier of the sidelink service is used to distinguish the sidelink connection and UEs at both ends from the others. Therefore, the sidelink standard specifies the requirement that the UE identifier must be uniquely selected and operated within the service range of the corresponding connection. In this paper, we present an effective method to resolving identifier conflict in the sidelink service.
