Depression

Health communication scholars study depression in a number of contexts, including mass media (i.e., news, ads, and media campaigns), interpersonal communication, and computer‐mediated communication. Because depression is often conceptualized from a Western perspective in health communication research, there is still much need for research on depression from a global and intercultural perspective.
