Macroevolution: Evolution above the Species Level

The red-headed krait (Bungarus flaviceps) in Borneo is a venomous member of the cobra family. Snakes evolved from lizards, but many anatomical features have become very different. How large changes occur in evolution is part of the study of macroevolution.
