摘要
The Cover Feature shows a fragment of the selected calcium(II) thiophene-2-carboxylate coordination polymer (CaCPs) against the background of the obtained monocrystals. The selected polymer has a one-dimensional crystal structure described by the (4,4)(0,2) topology. Changing the position of the carboxylate group in the thiophene ring as well as extending the linker by −CH2 in the ligand do not change the dimensionality and topology of the obtained calcium polymers. Interestingly, the change of ligand affects the luminescence properties of the calcium polymers. The calcium compound was compared with the lead(II) polymer (PbCPs) to highlight similarities and differences of the two polymers and thus the coordination preferences of both ions. This part of the work demonstrates the possibility of substituting lead ions by calcium ions in biological systems based on structural comparison. More information can be found in the Research Article by J. Masternak and co-workers.
