The features of pseudoisocyanine (PIC) dye aggregation in TiO 2 matrices prepared by different methods are shown. For all cases, a broadening of the exciton bands was found typically with Stokes shifts increasing as a result of significant disorder degree. The difference between the dye adsorption on microcrystalline and nanocrystalline TiO 2 matrices has been demonstrated. As another possibility to influence the e dye aggregation, the preparation of TiO 2 matrices from differently charged TiO 2 nanoparticles has been proposed
