Introduction

This introduction presents an overview of the key concepts discussed in the subsequent chapters of this book. The book discusses the consideration of the cyberse-curity and privacy needs for rural areas in such policies. It also discusses the holistic 5G ecosystem approach to regulating cybersecurity in 5G networks. The book argues for the prioritization of crises management and recovery in 5G cybersecurity regulations. Wireless networks have shown to be the fastest-growing communications technology in history. Wireless networks such as mobile telephony emerged commercially in the 20th century as a complimentary service to fixed-line telephony. Wireless communications have supported ICT for development initiatives in developing countries. There are examples of some of these initiatives in developing countries. One example is that of Esoko Ghana focusing on e-agriculture using mobile telephony. The result of the regulatory drivers, market drivers, and upshot of development initiatives using mobile, has been the rapidly falling costs and technological progress.
