Invading a House in Amapá - Brazil: First Occurrence of Rhodnius Amazonicus Almeida, Santos & Sposina, 1973 in the State

Rhodnius amazonicus Almeida, Santos & Sposina, 1973 in Brazil, it was previously reported in the states of Amazonas and Pará, as well as in French Guiana, which has an area bordering the state of Amapá. In this study, the presence of the species was recorded invading a house in the rural area of the municipality of Porto Grande, Amapá, northern region of Brazil. Other triatomines such as: Panstrongylus geniculatus, Rhodnius pictipes and Eratyrus mucronatus were also found in the same locality in different houses. This new report of different vectors may contribute to understanding the ways of transmission of the Trypanosoma cruzi (Chagas, 1909) in the state of Amapá, where new infections and outbreaks of Chagas disease are recorded.
