Performance Analysis of PV System with DC-DC Converter under Different Solar Irradiations Conditions

The performance of a photovoltaic (PV) system under various sun irradiation and temperature conditions is investigated in this study. The primary goals of today's renewable energy systems are to extract maximum power from high-penetrating renewable energy sources (RES) and to step up low-voltage renewables to the necessary voltage level with low-power semiconductor switches. A 400 W PV system is developed and its performance is evaluated under constant solar irradiation of 1000 W/m 2 , variable solar irradiation conditions ranging from 300 W/m 2 to 1000 W/m 2 , and real-time solar irradiation data in the 13 0 39 1 29.3 11 N 79 0 29 1 09.3 11 E region. The proposed PV system, which includes a quadratic Boost converter and a P&O MPPT controller, must be implemented in a MATLAB/Simulink model and its performance evaluated under various environmental conditions.
