摘要
Abstract O.ce.a.ni.glo'bus. L. masc. n. oceanus the great sea, ocean; L. masc. n. globus ball; N.L. masc. n. Oceaniglobus a ball from the ocean. Proteobacteria / Alphaproteobacteria / Rhodobacterales / Rhodobacteraceae / Oceaniglobus The genus Oceaniglobus accommodates marine mesotrophic bacteria of the family Rhodobacteraceae within the order Rhodobacterales . Two species of this genus have been established, including Oceaniglobus indicus and Oceaniglobus ichthyenteri , with the first as the type species. Both are chemoheterotrophic, halotolerant, and slightly halophilic, aerobic, and catalase‐ and oxidase‐positive. Cells of this genus are Gram‐stain‐negative, ovoid, or coccus without flagellum. They can accumulate poly‐β‐hydroxybutyrate (PHB) as granules intracellularly. In constrast to some species of this family, they do not produce bacteriochlorophyll a (Bchl a ) under aerobic conditions. The dominant fatty acids are C 18:1 ω7 c and/or C 18:1 ω6 c . The major polar lipids are phosphatidylcholine, phosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylethanolamine, diphosphatidylglycerol, unidentified phospholipid, and two unidentified polar lipids. The respiratory quinone is Q‐10. Bacteria of the genus are only found in marine environments such as pelagic surface water and coastal marine animal gut. Genome size : 3.67–3.90 Mb. DNA G + C content (mol%) : 59–64 (Genome sequence). Type species : Oceaniglobus indicus Li et al. 2017 VP .
