Metallophthalocyanines: synthesis and anticancer activities

This review focuses on citing several excellent works have already been published about new peripherally substituted metallophthalocyanines (MPcs). Many different routes lead to MPcs, while the most useful synthetic pathway to introduce peripheral substituent into the phthalocyanine core consist the cyclotetramerisation of already substituted phthalonitriles (Phthalocyanine precursors).Investigation of antiprolifrative action was reported against different cell lines and results depend upon the choice of the central atom, nature and position of substituent.
