General conclusions: assessing the landscape

This final chapter summarizes the key issues and main findings concerning the engagement of EU return acquis with international law, both internally and externally. It equally draws some general conclusions, touching upon also the possible way forward concerning the interplay between the respective normative processes and legal orders in the field of the ‘expulsion of aliens’.
