摘要
Background: The appearance of the hair and scalp is a significant aesthetic criterion for the public. Despite the various treatment options for hair loss, therapeutic results are unsatisfactory and the desire for aesthetic development is increasing. Objectives: The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of low-level light therapy (LLLT) of helmet devices on skin physiology and hair growth. Methods: During 24 weeks, 50 subjects used the helmet-shaped LLLT device for 20 minutes every day. At 12 and 24 weeks, we assessed sebum discharge, erythema index, Global Aesthetic Improvement Scale (GAIS) score, and hair density and thickness. Results: The Hair density and thickness were improved after the procedure (p< 0,001, p<0.001). GAIS score was increased in 91.84% (n=45) at 24 weeks of treatment. On the other hand, sebum secretion and erythema index did not change significantly. Conclusion: LLLT helmet device can enhance hair growth to improve scalp appearance
